Dead Label - Dystopian Complex Single Review
Hey guys Alicia here, today I’m reviewing “Dystopian Complex” by Irish metal band Dead Label, hope you all enjoy it.
About The Band
Dead Label is a thrash metal band formed in Celbridge Co. Kildare, Ireland in 2008, they have 2 studio albums released in 2012 and 2016 respectively, they released the single “Dystopian Complex” on October 2nd, 2019 after a series of recent singles.
The song itself is really good and as heavy as you’d expect from the band, the heavy use of the heavy guitar and Claire's expert drum work really bring the songs instrumental together, Dan’s harsh vocals seem to lift up the song more, over the past couple of years the band have worked to cultivate a sound and have definitely achieved that goal. The message of this release is one that's been in the news lately, talking about the world, how there's so much violence and how we’re destroying our planet “As plastic invades the seas and emissions choke the trees” the song is a heavy environmental anthem that really makes you think about the world and how humans have treated it. When you read the lyrics, it's easy to see what the band wanted to say. The song seems more political than their previous releases but it's also the most self-aware showing the reality of life and how we treat life.
This is a solid release with a good message, amazing instrumentals, and great vocals, the band seem to have taken from real life (similar to false messiah with the religious themes) and created a piece of art that gets their point across simply and effectively, After the release of “Triggered”, “False Messiah” and now “Dystopian Complex” the band are really on the way up and I'm excited to hear what comes next.
